Tuscaloosa Forward Generational Master Plan presented to City Council Public Projects Committee
February 29, 2012 — The City Council adopted the Tuscaloosa Forward Strategic Community Plan on September 6, 2011 which consisted of “big ideas,” key initiatives and guiding principles for the rebuilding of Tuscaloosa in areas impacted by the April 2011 tornadoes.
Since its adoption, the Tuscaloosa Forward Implementation Work Group has gathered additional detailed elements from the community to implement a plan that comprehensively sets out specific projects within the recovery area. The Work Group has been committed to developing a broad vision that would serve as a comprehensive road map for future generations.
On February 28th, 2012, the Tuscaloosa Forward Implementation Work Group presented the “Tuscaloosa Forward Generational Master Plan” to the City Council Public Projects Committee as a comprehensive vision for the recovery areas.

The Tuscaloosa Forward Generational Master Plan will be presented at a Public Meeting on March 6 at City Hall from 4-7 pm to gather feedback from the community. After review, the Tuscaloosa Forward implementation Work Group will return to the City Council Public Projects Committee on March 13 and go before the Planning Commission for recommendation to the City Council on March 19. The City Council will vote to adopt or reject the Mixed Residential Districts on April 17th.
On Tuesday, March 6th, 2012, the City of Tuscaloosa will host a Public Meeting from 4–7 PM at Tuscaloosa City Hall to view the Tuscaloosa Forward Generational Master Plan, as well as the Mixed Residential Districts for the areas affected by the tornado.
Tuscaloosa Forward Strategic Rebuilding Plan Adopted
The Tuscaloosa City Council unanimously adopted the Tuscaloosa Forward Strategic Rebuilding Plan on Tuesday, September 6th.
