Hardest Hit for Alabama’s Unemployed Homeowners

The Alabama Housing Finance Authority (AHFA) will administer the Hardest Hit Fund (HHF) to subsidize 100 percent of an eligible unemployed or underemployed homeowner’s current mortgage payments and all other mortgage-related expenses (including subordinate liens, if applicable) during their time of eligibility. The assistance will not exceed a total of 12 consecutive monthly payments of $15,000 per household.

Eligible unemployed homeowners with a property located in a Federally Declared Disaster County will be eligible for assistance not to exceed a total of 18 consecutive monthly payments of $25,000. All applications submitted on or before December 31, 2012 will be eligible for these increased benefits.
